My name is April and apparently, I needed something else to be distracted with so I’ve decided to start this blog. Here's a little bit about me: As of right now, I’m 39 years old (and still waiting to feel like I fit into this life, best way I can explain it). I live in Northridge, CA where I go to CSUN (more on that later). I have a loving husband, Rob, who is probably just as big a kid as I am. I ran into a neighbor whose bedroom and ours share a wall, and she said to me, “You guys are always laughing so much!” If there was only one way that my marriage could be described, I’d choose that to be it. I’m currently going to school working on my teaching credential and it’s killing me. Everyone tells me how great it is that I’m going to school and occasionally, I even convince myself that it’s a good thing, but no one knows (until now, I guess) how often I just want to run away screaming. It’s probably the main cause of stress in my life, but I have a lot of time and money invested in the whole thing so I guess I’m going to do what I have to do. On a lighter note, I make jewelry and I simply love it. I am in the process of turning it into a full-fledged business and I have a separate blog for that that’s been up for quite a while now along with a Facebook page and an Etsy site that’s waiting for me to put stuff up on it. Soon as I get my resale license, I'm blowing the place up with items to sell. I don’t have any children unless you count “the babies”: two aquatic turtles Shelly and Sheila. Any other personal information needed will, I’m sure, unfold as needed throughout the blog.
So anyway, the purpose of this blog is basically to document all the things that grab my attention. When school is in session, I probably won’t post as often as I’d like, but I’ll try to dedicate some time to it. This blog will occasionally be about life events, a wee bit health related but often it will be commentary. Entries about my jewelry making will be at a minimum because that’s what my Stella Magia blog is all about but I will be showing any other crafts I happen to do. In recent months I’ve discovered the “Natural Hair” movement so I will probably be posting hair pictures occasionally. I also like to get adventurous in cooking now and then so pictures of that stuff will pop up as well. Oops, I almost forgot about Influenster. It’s a where they send boxes of stuff for people to review. I’ll be reviewing what comes in whatever boxes I get, as well as reviewing anything else that I happen to try. All that being said, in this blog I’m going to be pretty blunt about a lot of things, and probably quite snarky as well. I was going to say that I hope I don’t offend my followers with that, but I’d rather say that I hope that the followers I get are not offended by that kind of thing. Lastly, I am going to try hard not to make this a public therapy session, but it might slip through on rare occasion… I AM a real person after all.
